Did you know that your glass panels can be heated? The process of manufacturing starts with applying a microscopic dioxide coating to the panel of glass. This coat of dioxide is transparent and conducts electricity. When the glass is installed, there are two busbars that run in parallel and are applied to each end on the same side of the glass panel. An electrical current is set up to flow through these and produces energy which the radiates from the glass, also known as “Heated Panels”.
Double & Triple Glazed Glass
Double glazing windows are a lot more common than normal stock type energy efficient windows you see. Double glazed windows consist of a hermetically sealed insulated glass unit that is composed of two glass panels separated by a spacer, allowing a dead space between the panels.
When applying triple glazed glass, a third layer of glass is added, reducing the heat/cold temperatures and noise transfer even more. An area where double or triple glazed windows, doors, or glass is installed increases the energy efficiency of the space, making your home or business cheaper to run.
Triple glazed panels contain three panels of glass that is separated by two spacers, therefore becoming a much more efficient unit than the double glazing windows. In practice, the overall insulated glass unit’s thickness with triple glazed glass is more than a double glazed unit. Triple glazed units are often 35mm with double glazed units being 28mm or smaller.
